Alpa Shah, M.D.

Dr. Shah completed her Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at the University of Rochester- Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She completed an Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College Brooklyn-Queens. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine and is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians.

She currently serves as the Chief of Staff and Chair of the Division Executive Committee at HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center. She is an active member of the Network Executive Committee, the Scottsdale Professional Practice Evaluation (Peer Review) Committee and multiple other medical staff and hospital committees. She serves as a Clinical Instructor for the HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Family Medicine Residency Program and has served as the Medical Director of Respiratory Therapy and the Pulmonary Function Lab at HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center.

She is a member of multiple local and national organizations including the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, American Medical Association, American College of Physicians, and the Society of Critical Care Medicine. She is also a member of the American Association for Physician Leadership.

Dr Shah is passionate about teaching and has received the coveted Teacher of the Year award from the HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center-Family Medicine Residency Program. As a fellow in training, she also received the Teaching Fellow of the Year at the University of Rochester and the National Research Fellowship Award from the National Institutes of Health.

She has been appointed to the HonorHealth Medical Staff as an actively practicing Pulmonary and Critical Care physician since 2006. She enjoys the diversity of her profession which includes the specialized care of both inpatients and outpatients, as well as the constantly evolving and innovative diagnostic and management options for patients with pulmonary disorders.

In her free time, Dr. Shah enjoys various outdoor activities and traveling with her family.
